Stripburger in Vienna

Vienna Comix Week
Stripburger: 34 Years of Making a Scene
an exhibition of comics, graphics, and other printed goodies

28. 5.–30. 6. 2026
V.A.M. – Vienna Art Market, Währinger Straße 100, 1180 Wien
Opening: Thursday, 28 May 2026, at 19.00

Stripburger is heading to Vienna! As part of Vienna Comix Week, the magazine is presenting an exhibition dedicated to over three decades of its activity in both the local and international independent comics scenes.

The centerpiece of the exhibition at the V.A.M. – Vienna Art Market gallery will be the works of selected Slovenian comics artists, alongside the magazine’s diverse comic and graphic production. On display will be original comic art by authors who regularly publish under the Stripburger umbrella, as well as a diverse selection of works from the extensive Stripburger archives: screen-printed and risograph posters from international projects such as Greetings from Striponia, Attention, Work!, and Sequences, Stripburger covers, and special boutique editions including GolažGollage, Greetings from Cartoonia, Workburger, Holyburger, and the anniversary anthology Dirty Thirty. The exhibited works, created by numerous long-time collaborators and friends of the magazine from the domestic and international indie scenes, embody the very diversity and uniqueness that have been Stripburger’s trademark since 1992.

As part of the Vienna Comix Week festival, Stripburger will also be present at the comics fairs at Literaturhaus Wien and Marx Halle, while the Club of Slovenian Students in Vienna (KSŠŠD) will host the Poetry in Comics workshop. Joining the celebrations of the Kosovel Year 2026, the workshop explores how to transform poetic imagery into the visual language of comics.

Stripburger will be represented in Vienna by editor Tanja Skale, along with comic and visual artists Andrej Štular and Žiga Sever.
