After two years it’s time again for a new open call! For the upcoming issue of Stripburger #87, we are looking for narratively bold, visually vibrant short comics that stick out, push boundaries, and don’t play it safe.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Format (vertical): 190 x 270 mm (If the artwork goes to the edge, please include a 5 mm bleed.)
- Length: 1–8 pages.
- Both color and black & white are welcome (and yes, we do love B&W comics!).
- No theme, no limits – surprise us!
- Language: English (or with an English translation provided). Wordless comics are also welcome.
- Submit a low-resolution version (JPEG or PDF) for review. Please don’t use download links with short expiration dates. If selected, we will request high-resolution files for printing later.
- Final print files: TIFF or PDF; resolution: 600 dpi for B&W comics and 300 dpi for grayscale or color.
- Please include your full name, country, a short bio/description (optional), and a link to your website/Instagram.

Stripburger #87 is scheduled for release in June 2026. Selected authors will be notified by 30 April 2026. Due to the high volume of submissions, it may take some time to receive a reply; we thank you for your patience.
We are not necessarily looking for brand-new comics. Previously created or self-published work is welcome; however, we prefer submissions that have not been previously published in English in an international comics magazine or anthology.
We do not currently have the budget for contributor fees; each published author will receive 6–10 complimentary copies of the magazine. Authors retain full copyright of their work and are free to publish it anywhere else.
