Stripburger invades Berlin

Stripburger at the Comic Invasion Berlin 2024
9–12 May 2024, Berlin, Germany

In May, Stripburger magazine is going on a special mission to Berlin, where it will present itself at the Comic Invasion Berlin, Berlin’s largest comics festival, which has been taking place in the German capital since 2012.

CIB 2024 is happening on May 11-12 at the Museum for Communication Berlin. The festival offers a huge dose of comics from Berlin and the world with a fair, workshops, exhibitions, readings, panels, and music. The heart of the festival is the Artist Alley, a colorful and diverse market with over 90 exhibitors – artists, collectives and publishers. A week before the festival, the satellite programme takes place all over the city. The programme includes workshops, exhibitions, book presentations, and more.

Since mid-April, the legendary Renate Comic Library has been showcasing an exhibition of Stripburger issues, among which the anniversary comics anthology Dirty Thirty, published on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the magazine’s production, has a special place in the shop window. On Thursday, 9 May at 19.30, Renate will also host a presentation of Stripburger magazine. Katja Štesl, a member of Stripburger editorial board and a comic book critic, is going to present the case of Stripburger magazine and the three decades of comics artistry, publication and co-creation of the alternative comics scene in Slovenia and abroad.

Stripburger will also have a table at the 2-day comics fair at the Museum for Communication Berlin. Special guest at the fair will be visual artist Neža Jurman, who works under the artistic name Nez Pez and creates in a variety of media – from printmaking, painting, sculptural installations, graffiti, video, and is also active in the field of zine production.
